Cmat Says Sad Farewell to Mr Ecclestone

Brian Ecclestone, Caretaker at Cmat's Castle Academy in Mow Cop has decided to take a well-earned retirement after turning 80 years of age recently.

During his fifteen and a half years with Castle, Brian has worked under the leadership of no less than five head teachers! Current Head Teacher, Miss Jill Mason, praised his commitment and dedication to the small village school:
"Brian is a remarkable man with many talents who can turn his hand to any job needed. He has ensured that this school is a safe place for our children to learn and has, on occasion, even taken our assemblies, which the children thoroughly enjoy.”

Brian began work at Castle in June 2002 and in all that time has never had a day off work. He has been much appreciated as a conscientious worker who always goes the extra mile to support the children and staff at the school. At one time his wife, Norma, and daughter, Jill, also worked at the school, making it a real family affair.

Brian has finally decided after much deliberating that he is going to retire at the end of this term and he will be greatly missed by the children, staff, Governors and families.

Miss Mason added:

“We hope Brian and his family will in keep contact with the school and visit us often and we wish him a very happy, healthy and long retirement.”
