Behaviour for Learning

Cmat can work with you to develop a consistent approach to the management of student behaviour which promotes learning.

At Cmat member school, Congleton High School, Ofsted found that "The behaviour of students is good.....they have very positive attitudes to learning" and "conduct themselves safely and responsibly with minimal requirement for huge levels of supervision" (Ofsted 2014). Again in 2018, Ofsted reported that: "Pupils have positive attitudes to their learning. As a result, pupils, including those who are disadvantaged, are more engaged in their learning."

The procedures the school has in place under Behaviour for Learning provide a clear framework for all staff and a safe place for all students to make progress.

Our support will enable you to:

  • analyse the effectiveness of your current provision
  • see BFL and its procedures in action
  • talk to staff and students
  • provide training and support for all staff

We can provide support for Behaviour for Learning through:

  • Senior and other leaders working with your key staff
  • professional days to see BFL in action
  • training for staff
